My Trial of the Oil Cleansing Method 04/17/2013

OK, so I had found a really good source for Jojoba Oil here.

Part ONE--I was looking up Jojoba because I thought it would be worth trying on a stand-alone basis, free of impurities and additives.  I found out how AWESOME it is for nails and thought, why not???

The link above gives a good summary of the benefits of Jojoba Oil.  Easy absorption, little to no scent, can be used uncut and unmodified AND it has the major plus of being the oil that is chemically closest to the composition in human sebum, making it ideal to use for human skin moisturizing.  However, since it is such an expensive additive, many products only add a token amount.  I am going for pure here to make my own cuticle oil.  :D

That brings me to part TWO of my search.  I have skin that is very complex.  It is oily.  It is dry.  It is red and irritated.  It gets upset VERY easily by minor infractions (chocolate anyone?).  I had heard reference to the Oil Cleansing Method.  When I was looking at the Jojoba Oil listing above, I noticed someone said they use it as the moisturizing portion of their routine.

LIGHTBULB!

Perhaps this was the elusive skin care routine I'd been searching for?  Relatively non-drying (shocker there!) and without much to annoy my delicate skin.  Hmmm...

So here is the skinny:  Oil Cleansing Method

This link tells the details.  Until I hear from the writer, I will only link this webpage/blog.

Skin Care.  Nothing has done anything for me long term...and truth told, probably more harm than good.  I used Retin-A, I used Clearasil, I used various prescription and over-the-counter medications for my face.  I've used brighteners, I've used "redness tamers" that don't do anything for me...I've even gone the plain old soap, water and lotion route.  Lack of success is an understatement.

So here I go.  I will take a photo to upload here to show my before skin texture and color.  Let's hope I see improvement fast.
